Each of us will be offered a chance to throw a wide range of questions into the Boomerang Bowl to be drawn out weekly for discussion and insight. - Adult Sunday School
- Social Justice Sunday School class meets in the portable building.
Class begins again Sunday, September 6, with a discussion of Bill Moyers' interview from this past July 3 on "Faith & Social Justice" with Gary Dorrien, Serene Jones and Cornel West: "what our core ethics and values as a society say about America's politics, policy, and the challenges of balancing capitalism and democracy.” View the video or contact Nell Lindquist for a copy of the transcript. All are welcome to join the discussion! We meet at 9:30am in the portable building. - Morning Manna Sunday School class meets in the portable building.
When was the last time you were involved in a bible study? That long, huh? Well, let me tell you about Sunday Morning Manna! This class is a vehicle for thought, prayer and study of a well-known text. The text is entitled, "The Bible", and you can pick up a copy just about anywhere! Ken Westby, evangelist, describes this book as full of “irony, wit, double entendre, paradox, epigrams, incongruity, hyperbole, absurdity, verbal subtleties, indirection, clever turns of phrases, and pungency of speech”. This is a life-long study that guarantees to offer the participant endless reflection.
The journey starts September 6th. The outline for Sunday Morning Manna will be two-fold. We will begin our class with a look at the lectionary for Sunday worship. The second part of the class will center on discussion topics from Insights: Bible Studies for Growing Faith. This series grows out of an expressed need among UCC congregations for simple, short-term Bible studies for adults. This fall we will look at the first topic in this series called A User’s Guide to the Bible.
Join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 beginning September 6th. We will meet in the portable building
